Welcome to Employment & Training Association's Home Page Employment and Training Association (EATA) is the oldest private, non-profit, community based organization providing employment and training programming and services in Dane County. EATA has operated various Federal training components funded by the U. S. Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Services, and remains the single largest provider of TANF related work program services in Dane County. As a member of the One Stop Operator’s Committees in Dane, Sauk, and Jefferson Counties, and past President and long standing board member of the Wisconsin Employment & Training Association, EATA’s Executive Director, James Erlenborn, has been a leader in the integration and coordination of regional services in South Central Wisconsin. The agency’s and Jim Erlenborn's roots date to 1966 when EATA operated the Community Action Program Neighborhood Youth Corp. Since that time, EATA has managed components of Youth and Adult Work Experience, Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA), Work Exploration and Job Training (WEJT), Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), Job Opportunities and Basic Skills (JOBS), Children First, FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET), Wisconsin Works (W-2), Dislocated Worker Retraining, Welfare to Work (WtW), and the Workforce Investment Act Youth Opportunities Program. EATA is committed to providing employment and training services in a way that preserves personal dignity, considers individual needs and differences and supports families. To further this goal, the agency employs staff with a unique blend of talents, skills, and backgrounds that are utilized to ensure that customers’ needs are met. EATA provides comprehensive employment and training services throughout Dane County at the Job Center and at several locations outside the Job Center in Madison, Stoughton, and Sun Prairie. Additionally, EATA staff maintain ongoing relationships with staff from other community agencies and with local employers. This includes forged relationships with neighborhood staff which affords a cohesive trust factor in reaching out to identify individuals interested in advancing their employment opportunities. Finally, EATA continues to cultivate and provide multi-cultural services to the diverse population in Dane County. The success of EATA is dependent on its employees and their knowledge of the organization’s goals and needs. |
