The Dane County Early Childhood Initiative (ECI)

EATA provides the employment component of the Dane County Early Childhood Initiative. The Early Childhood Initiative works with families and their infants in the Allied Drive/Dunn’s Marsh and Russett Road Neighborhoods of Madison and in Sun Prairie to develop a strong parent child bond. This is accomplished by offering a full range of services including home visitation, family support, education and employment opportunities. Employment & Training Association provides a full-time on-site Education and Employment Specialist.

The education and employment component is unique in that the Education and Employment Specialists are able to be very flexible with participants and with employers. They partner with employers to assist with supervision issues, training needs and equipment requirements. Participants are assessed on an individual basis and offered appropriate services including job search, resume and cover letter writing assistance, interviewing practice, counseling regarding AODA, domestic abuse, and legal issues. Transportation assistance and counseling are provided.
